Deal to Martin Mill (Near Dover) Walk

Come and join us on a Kent coastal walk from Deal to Martin Mill, near Dover on 16th September. We will be walking approx 9 miles across the coast, and by Deal and Walmer castles. There will be an early pub lunch stop by the sea at the Zealand Arms. If time permits, there will also be a stop for tea at Pine Gardens tea room at St Margaret's Bay.

Meeting point

Either at Deal Station or travel with us from St Pancras station.

9.07am train departs. Direct train. Arrives Deal 10.30am

10:30 Meet at Deal station to start the walk

Lunch

Zealand Arms. See www.zetlandarms.co.uk for a varied menu, or 'The Rising Sun' nearby. Seating is either inside or on the beach!

This is followed by a delightful walk by the sea. If we finish lunch by about 1.30pm, we should make it to the lovely tea place:

We will then continue along the coast to another castle and towards the first point where the Romans landed and invaded England.

Tea

The Pine Gardens tea room, St Margaret's bay, serves drinks and home made cakes. Seating inside or in the garden. Closes 4pm.

There is then a 1 hour walk directly inland to Martin Mill station. Trains leave 37mins past the hour. It takes approx 1 hour 20mins direct to St Pancras station, stopping at Stratford International on the way.
